Across the sea, four hundred or so years ago, was a dark place called the Bethlehem Royal Hospital. A hospital by name, but a madhouse in truth. Once committed to Bedlam, as it was commonly known, most never saw freedom or happiness again. So sad was their state that beggars would play for sympathy by saying, Give me a penny or a crust of bread. I'm from Bedlam and cannot fend for meself. Most people knew it for a lie and called these men a Tom-a-Bedlam or a Mad Tom. This, some say, is the namesake of Mad Tom IPA. Muskoka Brewery. Venture off the beaten path.

Dear, I know it's here somewhere. I had it only a moment ago. Oh, I'm all discombobulated. Now, where have I put it? It's the switch you're looking for, Santa. Ah, yes, that's it. Thank you, Callum. It's a very strange looking thing. What is it? Well, Rudolph, it's the, um, widget that, um, thing-a-me-bobs. What's its name? On the, whatchamacallit, that makes the sleigh bells ring. There. Oh, perfect. Oh, now you're talking. Let Christmas begin. Come on, Rudolph. Come on, Callum. Mrs. Claus has got some warm mince pies with our names on.

I will honor Christmas in my heart and try to keep it all the year. I will live in the past, the present, and the future. The spirits of all three shall strive within me. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach. Oh, tell me I may sponge away the writing on this stone.

Oh, I've just rearranged the new cane furniture in Lincoln PVC's conservatory village. Mmm, plush. But it's just not feng shui! There's a really bad vibe between the sweets and the coffee tables, and I'm sure there's an evil spirit in the yucca plant!

Hello, is that Jack White? Yeah. It's Santa Claus, Jack. Hello, how are you? I'm okay. Goodness me, it's lovely to talk to you. Tell me, is your name really White, or have you just been standing out in the snow? I bet you haven't. It's a bit too cold for that, isn't it? And you live in Hemel Hempstead, don't you, with your mummy and daddy? Yeah. What are you asking Santa for for Christmas this year, Jack? A DSI. A DSI? Is that a detective, sergeant, inspector? No, no, that can't be right. Oh, I know, a Nintendo. Is it the Nintendo DeSixel? Oh, no, stupid of me, it's a DSi XL, isn't it? And there's me thinking it's a DeSixel. There's no such thing, is there? Now then, let's see what else my elves tell me about you. I hear that congratulations are in order because you passed a grading in something. Now then, I got a feeling it was box kicking, is that right? Kickboxing. Oh, kickboxing. I thought it was strange. I mean, why on earth people would want to go and kick boxes, I don't know. Oh, kickboxing. I see, and what did you get when you passed your grading? Um, I just got a belt. Good, splendid. One thing, Jack, what goes red, white, red, white, red, white, red, white, red, white, red, white, red, white? Um, is it a lighthouse? No, it's Santa rolling down a hill. There we are. Lovely to talk to you, Jack, and I wish you a very Merry Christmas to you and all your family. Bye-bye, Jack. Bye. Bye.

Halloween is coming, so be prepared. The knock at the door, will you be scared? The pumpkin flickers, the wind howls. The baying of wolves, the hooting of owls. What will you choose? Trick or treat? When you open the door, who will you meet? A witch on a broomstick? A ghoul or ghost? A skeleton? Vampire? Which will scare you most? Pumpkin lanterns, apples in a barrel. Spooks and specters in strange apparel. Black cats in graveyards, shadows in the night. All manner of horrors to give you fright. You cannot hide, there's no escape. Watch out for me with my hat and cape. I am Halloween, be ready for my knock. My stick taps, you're in for a shock.
