I work in a lead smelter where I heat lead ore and then separate the lead from the ore. Then I work to refine the lead so that it can be made into a bunch of different products. Some of the foundries I've worked at were more stringent about safety than others. But I admit that sometimes hygiene wasn't always my first thought. Taking a smoke break without washing up first comes to mind. Luckily I wasn't affected, but I can't help but think of the risk I took before I knew better.
